Distribution Plan
For the distribution of my film, I want to have a short theatrical release, a re-release of the film in theaters, and a home media release that is exclusively digital download.
Theatrical release
For my theatrical release I want the film to have a shortened window. I want the film to be in theaters for three weeks. Most films make over ninety percent of their money in the first three weeks. I want to have this window because we can make mostly the same profit without having to keep the film in theaters too long which costs money.
Re-release
There will be a re-release of the film in theaters a week after the first theatrical release has concluded. This version of the film will include bonus content and lyrics on the screen that allow the audience to sing along with the film. This will be available for two weeks. This will give the film a chance to pick up more profit from the theaters while it is still relevant.
Home Media
For the home media release of the film, which takes place six weeks after the films initial release, the film will be made available on digital download only. This is because services like Disney+ and Hulu are becoming more popular and are at the point where they had replaced DVDs. Making the film available on these services ensures that it will have exposure for a long time and saves us the money of making it available on DVD which is becoming expensive and irrelevant.
